Six forest fires extinguished in Yakutia

Six forest fires were extinguished in Yakutia over the past 24 hours, while seven fires are still active. This was disclosed on Wednesday by dispatcher of the Far Eastern air base of forest protection Sergey Kozyulin.

According to him, six active fires are large. Some of them consumed an area of more than 25,000-36,000 hectares. All firemen and forest protection servicemen have been drafted to fight combat fires, Kozyulin stressed.

Deer-runs are still on fire in Chukotka, the dispatcher said. 7 fires have been registered there on Wednesday. All in all, since the beginning of the season, fires have destroyed 85,833 hectares of deer-runs.

No fires have been reported today in the Khabarovsk and Primorye territories, the Magadan, Sakhalin, Amur, Kamchatka and Jewish autonomous regions of the Russian Far East.
