Tatneft oil company reports rise in oil production

Russia's oil company Tatneft produced 2,088,504 tons of oil in August 2002,which was 2,280 tons more as compared to the corresponding month last year,the Tatneft press service reported. Since the beginning of this year,Tatneft's oil production amounted to 16,399,655 tons of oil against16,385,254 tons in the corresponding period in 2001. The total volume ofoil production in the Tatarstan Republic, which is a part of Russia, madeup 2,444,176 tons in August of this year against 2,406,818 tons in August2001. .
