Russian crude oil exports were 13.8m tons in August 2002

Russia's crude oil exports (oil transit from the countries of the CIS takeninto account) were 13,776,000 tons in August this year, an increase of 5.2percent as compared to the similar period of last year, the Russian EnergyMinistry reported. Of this figure the export of Russian oil accounts for12,247,000 tons, up 6.5 percent from the similar period of last year, whilethe volume of oil transit from the countries of the CIS was 1,529,000 tons,a decrease of 3.8 percent. In January-August 2002 Russia's oil exports rose3.2 percent to 103.5m tons as compared to January-August 2001, of whichRussian oil accounted for 91,348,000 tons (up 2.3 percent), while transitoil accounted for 12,219,000 tons (an increase of 10 percent as compared tothe figure reported in the year-ago period)..
