Gov't may ban sale of cars with Euro-0 engines soon

The government of the Russian Federation is planning to pass a resolutionbanning the sale of cars with Euro-0 engines in Russia, Industry, Scienceand Technology Minister Ilya Klebanov declared in the Republic of Tatarstantoday. According to him, the main aim of this decision is to establish acivilized market in our country. "We are behind the European Union by five or six years now and we shouldeliminate this gap by January 1, 2008, when it will be prohibited in Russiato sell trucks and cars with engines below the Euro-4 standard," theofficial said.
