Kasyanov comes to grips with flood-caused problems

Today Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov will hold a conference callwith heads of the regions of the South Federal District. They will discussmeasures aimed at stepping up restoration works in the flood-strickenregions. Last week the premier was informed that all gas supply facilities had beenfixed and federal roads repaired in regions which suffered from the floodin early August. The restoration of regional roads is currently beingfinalized. However, private housing and schools are still in a sad plight.Particularly, last week only 50 percent of schools were ready for thebeginning of classes in South Russia. .
