According to preliminaryestimations, the new enterprise will be producing 300,000 tons of virginaluminum annually and employ 2,000 or 3,000 people. The Kola nuclear power station may become the potential energy resource forthe enterprise, as they will be located close to each other. Director ofRusAl's energy department Ivan Bokhmat was quoted as saying that the reasonfor choosing the Murmansk region for this project, was not only due to itsenergy resources and their cost, but also because the region has twoseaports that will allow cutting product transportation expendituressignificantly. .
