Government sets subsistence level

The Russian government set the subsistence level for the second quarter of2002 according to the federal law on the subsistence level in Russia. Itreached RUR1,804 (about $57.17) per capita. For the working age population,it was set at RUR1,960 (about $62.12), for pensioners - at RUR1,383 (about$42.83) and for children - at RUR1,795 (about $56.89).
