Russian stock market opens lower - 26 August, 2002

Russian share prices continue falling. Today the trade on the majority ofsecurities opened a bit lower. In the first minutes of the trade on theMoscow Interbank Currency Exchange only securities of Surgutneftegaz andTatneft managed to go higher than the previous closing. On the whole, themarket will be calm today, analysts say. The trade is unlikely to becomemore active, they point out. Currently a sideways trend prevails and thesituation on the market is unlikely to change considerably until thebeginning of the fall..
