Federation Council head to visit sub base in Far East

Today, Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Sergey Mironov willvisit a base of nuclear subs in Vilyuchinsk, where he is to get acquaintedwith the situation in the army and navy on the Kamchatka peninsula, astrategically important region of the Far East of Russia. On Wednesday, theChairman of the Federation Council is planning to visit the KoryakAutonomous Area; on Thursday, he is scheduled to come back to Kamchatkawhere he is to finish his visit to the peninsula.Yesterday evening, Mironov stated at a briefing that he was going to spendspecial attention to "the peculiar problems of the Far East".
