Gazprom posts 2003 gas supplies to Belarus

In 2003, the Gazprom gas holding will supply 10.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Belarus. A corresponding agreement was reached at the negotiations on Russian gas supplies to Belarus between Belarusian Prime Minister Gennady Novitsky and acting CEO of Gazprom Alexander Ananenkov. These negotiations took place in Moscow, Gazprom's press service reported. the parties agreed that gas supplies beyond this amount could be performed at a commercial price by independent producers only.

Belarus confirmed its readiness to repay its debt for the gas supplied to Belarus in 2002, in the shortest possible period of time. Novitsky and Ananenkov agreed that before December 1, 2002, Belarus would introduce to Gazprom a schedule and proposals on repayment of debts registered as of January 1, 2002.
