Oil production grows in Russia

Oil production (including liquefied gas) amounted to 313m tons in Russia in the period from January to October 2002, which was 8.7 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year, the Russian State Statistics Committee reported. Oil production in October 2002 grew by 10.1 percent, compared to October 2001, and increased by 4.1 percent, compared to September 2002.

Natural gas production went up by 2.8 percent to 485bn cubic meters in the period from January to October 2002. In October 2002 gas production added 2.8 percent, compared to October 2001, and surged by 18 percent, compared to September 2002.
