Gazprom reports rise in gas production in 2002

According to preliminary estimations, Gazprom's volume of gas production will hit 521.5-522bn cubic meters in 2002 in general, against the planned 520bn cubic meters. The 2003 gas production plan was set at 531.7bn, the press service of the Russian gas giant reported after a Board meeting on November 18.

An increase in gas production in 2002, became possible mainly due to launching a new complex in the Zapolyarye oil field. Substantial measures taken by Gazprom to return its assets added to this tendency as well.
