Russian State Duma ratifies agreement on providing military flights of CIS countries with air navigation information

On Wednesday, the Russian State Duma ratified the agreement on providing military flights of the CIS member states with air navigation information.

The agreement between 12 former Soviet republics was signed in Moscow in January 2000 and aims at ensuring safety of their military planes' flights in the CIS air space. The participants pledged to provide each other with reliable air navigation data timely and to ensure security of the information acquired during cooperation if it is a state or military secret.

So far, only Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Turkmenistan have failed to ratify the agreement.
