CGG To Win BP Java Contracts

CGG announces the award of a major 3D seismic acquisition program by BP for a series of OBC/transition zone/land surveys on the Java Sea, its second consecutive project for this oil major in Indonesia.

The West Java project is scheduled to start in September with a 300 km2 OBC survey followed by a 200 km2 transition zone survey, and includes an option for BP to extend it to a further two 3D surveys. The first part of the project is expected to last between six and twelve months.

BP West Java is the eleventh project CGG has won in Indonesia over the last two years. Such a wealth of experience will stand CGG in good stead for this challenging survey program which will encounter a diversity of terrain, including a zone obstructed with oil rigs and pipelines, an environmentally sensitive coastline of mangrove swamps and fish ponds. ©
