Chisinau to see the signing of documents on establishment of gas transport consortium

Russian-Ukrainian documents regarding the beginning of the first-step realization of gas transport consortium will be signed in Chisinau on the 7th of October during the summit of the CIS heads of states and Prime Ministers, said Russia's Vice Premier Viktor Khristenko at a press conference on Wednesday.

The Russian joint-stock company Gazprom and the Ukrainian Nafta-Neftegaz company will sign the corresponding documents, he said. "These documents must give Russia and Ukraine an opportunity to work out all the necessary details together, while they will still avoid being documents of "highly detailed elaboration", Vice Premier stated.

The Vice Premier also told the journalists that at the end of this week he was planning a trip to Chisinau in order to continue negotiations on realization of the Russian and Ukrainian presidents' statements to set up a consortium.

"Implementation of these statements will most likely take several stages," Viktor Khristenko pointed out.
