Explosive device in purse causes blast in bus

An unidentified explosive device in a purse caused an explosion, killing a man, in a bus in the Tula region's town of Aleksin (the Central Russia) on Sunday. As a result of the blast a 38-year-old man was killed and a teenager was wounded, the press service of the Tula region's UVD (the Department of the Interior) reported on Monday.

The tragedy happened in a PAZ bus that belonged to the Chasteranfavto private enterprise. The bus was waiting for passengers to get on at the terminal. The driver's 14-year-old son found a purse and gave it to his father. Ganin, the driver, tried to unzip the purse, but the find suddenly exploded. Ganin was killed and the driver's son, with heavy burns and numerous splinter wounds, was sent to hospital. There were no other passengers in the bus, when the tragedy happened.

Investigation into the case is underway.
