RAO UES accomplishes government's assignment of fuel reserve replenishment

The payments for the current energy consumption and the repayments of previous debts to the company enabled RAO UES of Russia to fully accomplish the Russian government's assignment of the replenishment of fuel reserves by the beginning of the fall-winter season, the company's press service reported.

On October 1 RAO UES of Russia's coal reserves were 23.4 m tons, an increase of 6.2 percent of the figure planned for this date. The company's black oil reserves were 3.3m tons, 4.2 percent up from the assigned figure and the figure reported on October 1, 2001. Nearly all of the holding's subsidiaries accomplished the assignments of fuel reserve replenishment. Such 'problem regions' as the Kamchatka, Primorye, Arkhangelsk and other regions have fully accomplished their assignments.

More regular payments for the company's services were accompanied by a substantial growth of prices for the major kinds of fuel. Gas prices have risen 40 percent since the beginning of this year, while black oil prices have doubled. At the same time, the energy tariffs for end users grew only 14 percent over the same period.
