Russia needs Singapore's assistance to eradicate corruption

Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko said that Russia could be interested in Singapore's experience in the struggle against corruption.

"Singapore's experience in economic, social and political development, including the struggle against corruption, enjoys demand in the world and in Russia too," she said.

Valentina Matviyenko believes that Russia should study Singapore's experience and try to use it to struggle against corruption in Russia, The Kommersant newspaper said.

In Singapore, there is a system of effective measures that exclude corruption in the country. The people of Singapore are taught to reject corruption from early childhood.  

"The state apparatus in Singapore is compact, but it is effective, and well-paid civil servants very much value their place of work and reputation," said Matvienko.
