St Petersburg's Lenenergo Considers Cooperating with General Electric Power Systems

According to the Lenenergo electric company, its cooperation with General Electric Power Systems is not out of the question. Yesterday, Andrei Likhachev, Lenenergo's General Director, met with John T. McCarter Vice President, Regional Executive, of General Electric Power Systems in Europe, and Massimo Guidoti, General Director of the GE Power Systems in Russia and Eurasia.

The participants of the meeting discussed the possible introduction and use of GIS-Technologies-based automated control and distribution systems, that is the issue of maximal interest to power producers today. Most power companies of Russia are either installing or about to install such systems.

Besides, Andrei Likhachev, John T. McCarter, and Massimo Guidoti discussed the prospects as to the setting up of joint engineering centres and cooperating on the basis of franchise-type transfer of rights.
