Sberbank's Income to Exceed Earlier Planned Volume

Sberbank's net income in 2002 will exceed the planned 27.5bn rubles ($868m), Alla Aleshkina, deputy head of Sberbank, told journalists today. She was quoted as saying that, according to preliminary results for the first nine months of the year, the bank had fulfilled every planned task. Sberbank's loan debts amount to some 470bn rubles ($14.84bn). The amount of attracted individual deposits also exceeds the planned volume. She pointed out that Sberbank's share on the market of banking services was decreasing. "This is evidence of the recovering banking system of the country", she noted. She also stressed that Sberbank was planning to broaden the network of its affiliates.
