"The construction is being conducted on schedule. All promises made during the laying of the first stone, are being kept in full, - executive director of the International Airport of Nizhny Novgorod, Alexander Sinelnikov confirmed. - By October 2015, we plan to complete general construction works. In December, as agreed, we plan to open the new terminal and celebrate the New Year in it."
"One should have a comprehensive approach to the development of transport infrastructure. When developing air transport, one should not forget about railway and road transport either. Therefore, works are being conducted to extend Molodezhny Prospect. Strigino railway station will be built - the station will establish connection with the Moscovsky Railway Station of the city of Nizhny Novgorod so that one could go there without road transport. Modern parking areas for road transport will be organized. The combination of road, rail and air transport will make it possible to organize a modern transit hub on the base of the airport," Governor Shantsev said.
On February 8, 2013, the project of the new passenger terminal of the Nizhny Novgorod airport was approved at the town-planning council under the chairmanship of the head of the region Valery Shantsev. On June 10, 2014, the head of the region launched the construction of a new passenger terminal.
