Young people in Ivanovo region eye hobbies and sports

In early December, the Ivanovo region will host two youth forums at once. Preparations for the holidays are about to end. The VI International Festival of Youth Associations of the Central Federal District, "Hobbies," will open on December 6. The regional sports forum "S.P.O.R.T - 2014" will open as well. 

"It is an open secret that young people are more susceptible to a variety of trends - ideological, pseudo-scientific, etc. - Oksana Goncharenko, deputy dean of the Department for Sociology and Political Science of the University for Finance under the Government of the Russian Federation, told Pravda.Ru. - If there is no creative activity, including with public support, socially dangerous movements may take this place. They can get here an extensive field of activities. Therefore, I believe, the initiative of the Ivanovo authorities is a positive one."

Hobbies Festival is a unique platform. Young people of the Central Federal District take an opportunity to meet new people, explore the entire palette of cognitive leisure activities, demonstrate their achievements to others.

"Now young people experience the shortage of communication, but people become more active. Volunteer activities have been getting more popular among the youth, along with educational, sports and educational activity - any type of activity is good for them, as it is very important to share experiences and see how similar organizations exist in other regions," Anton Serikov, PhD in Sociology, Dean of the Department for Regional Studies at the Southern Federal University, told Pravda.Ru.

Sports Forum "S.P.O.R.T - 2014" will be a logic development of the festival of hobbies. This is a regional event for the time being. Sports complex "Olympia" will bring together not only honored athletes, students of sports schools and associations of the Ivanovo region, but also representatives of youth organizations of the Central Federal District.

"These youth forums brightly demonstrate the character of the new generation - the people, who, after some time, will take the development of the region into their hands, - the Governor of the Ivanovo region Pavel Konkov said. - The region should become attractive to young and ambitious people. After all, we intend to implement large-scale projects of federal and international level," the governor added.
