Kazan helicopter plant to display its products at exhibition in Malaysia

The Kazan helicopter plant (KVZ) will display special modifications of helicopters for the warm climate and mountain areas at the Heli-Asia international exhibition to open in Kuala-Lumpur (Malaysia) on October 22nd.

The KVZ exposition includes stands and models of helicopters on the 1:20 scale. This time the enterprise will show five types of helicopters, among them different modifications of the Mi-17 - search-and-rescue, transport, water-bomber and ambulance helicopters. Modifications of these flying vehicles are widely used in the Air Force of Russia and in a number of foreign countries. Besides that, the Kazan plant turns out also special "presidential" helicopters on the basis of the Mi-17.

All these helicopters are fitted out with the VK-2,500 engines of the Klimov design office in St. Petersburg. They have undergone tests in the mountains of Northern China, rising to the height of up to 8,000 metres.

The new generation of helicopters is represented by the Mi-172 multifunctional helicopter fitted out with avionics of the Honey Well company of the USA. A helicopter of this kind has been successfully operating in South Korea already for about three years.

The enterprise will show also its latest developments - the light helicopters Ansat, Aktai and Mi-38 designed for police and anti-fire patrolling, rescuing people and training pilots.
