St. Petersburg to host telecommunications in Russia 8th international conference

North-Western correspondent Vyacheslav Kalashnikov/ -- Telecommunications in Russia, the 8th annual international conference opens in St. Petersburg on Wednesday. The two-day conference is sponsored by Adam Smith Institute (London), said the forum's organising committee.

The conferees will consider the introduction of amendments into the acting legislation /in particular, the federal law "On Communications"/, prospects for tariff policy, the development of Internet and mobile communications in Russia. In addition, the conferees are to discuss new telecommunications technologies, new trends in satellite communications, the increase in market capitalisation and financing methods.

The conference will focus on investments in the sector, the increase in competitiveness and growth of profits.
