Chelyabinsk region actively develops agriculture

The Chelyabinsk region actively develops agriculture. According to Governor Boris Dubrovsky, agriculture can become the growing point for the Southern Urals.

"We have very extensive opportunities. The region is self-sufficient in terms of food products. There is no risk now to remain without food against the backdrop of sanctions. The Chelyabinsk region is an export-oriented region at this point, the head of the region said.

The course of the Russian government aimed at import substitution gives agricultural producers a possibility for further development. The region has recently demonstrated its achievements at the XVI Russian Agroindustrial Exhibition "Golden Autumn" in Moscow. Many Chelyabinsk manufacturers and their products earned very good feedback and received "Golden Autumn 2014" awards. Latest scientific developments of the region were also on display.

"Of course, such exhibitions are necessary as they improve our knowledge of what kind of products are offered and where. The relevance of such events in view of the war of sanctions grows, Oleg Ovchinnikov, the head of the Center for Agricultural Problems of the Institute of the USA and Canada told Pravda.Ru. - Productivity of agriculture is impossible without science. This is commonplace truth. Successful development of agriculture is not possible without the government support. This can be seen from the agricultural experience of developed countries of the West. Therefore, the regional and better the federal support is extremely important," the expert said.

"It would be great, if such a promising region, as the Chelyabinsk region, conducted  a presentation of its investment and agriculture potential at the Chamber of Commerce, President of the National Union of Food Exporters, Dmitry Bulatov, told Pravda.Ru. - In November, for example, the Altai region will hold its presentation of the investment potential of the territory. We would like to see representatives of Chelyabinsk there some time too so that we could provide appropriate support to them from our union. In other words, we could bring the information on potential investment projects to potential foreign investors, for example."
