Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin decided to conduct a sudden inspection of the combat readiness of all troops of the Eastern Military District. This was announced by Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu at a meeting with the leadership of the Armed Forces.
"In accordance with his, starting from today, 10:00 a.m. Moscow time, the troops of the Eastern Military District, as well as the military units stationed on its territory, shall be placed in operational readiness," said Shoigu, ITAR-TASS reports. The Defense Minister ordered to take troops and command to the fields, to have them prepared accordingly to carry out assigned tasks.
"Special attention must be paid to the regrouping of troops at long distances - this is a priority task of the troops of the Eastern Military District," Shoigu said.
