The former head of Yukos oil company, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, left Russia after release and flew to Germany, where his mother is being treated.

Officials said that when being released, Khodorkovsky made ​​a personal request to process his documents for traveling abroad.

On Friday, December 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to pardon Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

Khodorkovsky left the colony in the Karelian Republic a few hours after Vladimir Putin signed the document to pardon him.
