Flag of Russian Empire to become Russia's historical symbol

The Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg plans to consider a draft federal law regulating the procedure for the use of the flag of the Russian Empire and introducing penalties for failure to comply with the document. The draft law is to be considered on December 25.

The initiative comes from United Russia deputy Vitaly Milonow. According to the bill, the black, yellow and white flag of the Russian Empire is to obtain the status of a historical symbol of Russia and establish administrative responsibility for its deliberate desecration in public.
