Moscow plans mass actions for National Unity Day

The Moscow authorities permitted ten mass actions for the National Unity Day, which Russia celebrates on November 4th. The largest of them will be the "Russian March" in Lublino, the head of the Security Department of the capital, Alexei Mayorov said.

A total of about 25,000 people will take part in the actions on November 4th in Moscow, he said. Apart from the "Russian March", the Liberal Democratic Party is planning a rally on Pushkin Square, a patriotic action near Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station, as well as a procession of representatives of the Cossacks.

Russia will celebrate the National Unity Day on Monday, November 4, which will be a national day off in the country.

Traffic on many central streets in Moscow will be blocked in preparation for the parade, which will take place on November 7 , in memory of the legendary march of the Red Army in 1941, from which soldiers went directly to the front.

This year, over two thousand troops, 28 students of military schools, about 3.5 thousand children from the Children's Movement of Moscow will march on Red Square during the parade.
