Gazprom reports rise in exports to Europe

Gazprom's natural gas exports to Europe surged 3.2 percent to 94.9bn cubic meters over the first nine months of this year, an analytical report of Aton Capital says. These export dynamics correspond to forecasts of Aton analysts.

In particular, exports of natural gas to Western Europe increased 2.7 percent to 64.5bn cubic meters. Gazprom's exports to Eastern Europe went up 4.5 percent to 30.4bn cubic meters.

Experts noted that a rise in exports was more significant in Eastern Europe amid lower prices on gas in these countries and partial barter settlements. Finally, analysts reported that Gazprom was continuing to strengthen its positions on the Turkish market, and the putting into operation of the first part of the Blue Stream gas pipeline next year is expected to promote a further rise in exports to Turkey.
