Another powerful cyclone threatens Russian Primorye

A new powerful cyclone, the third one this month, threatens to appear in Primorye Territory on Thursday.

The Primorye hydro-meteorological centre reported on Wednesday that the two previous cyclones, which passed through the Territory with an interval of four days, have already formed a 1.5-metre snow layer. Another cyclone, which is coming from the Yellow Sea, will also bring precipitation such as wet snow, with rain on the coast, and a strong wind.

According to data provided by weather forecasters, the present October is unusual for the Primorye Territory. The average daily air temperature in the last decade of the month was 2-4 degrees lower than the average for many years, and its further lowering to the degrees below zero began 20 days earlier than usually.

It was the first such a cold October over the past 30 years.

In connection with the approach of a new cyclone, reports the Territorial controller's office, accident services of the municipal entities, brigades of road and power engineering workers have been put on enhanced alert.
