Moscow's Ostankino TV tower to be closed for tourists before 2015

The Ostankino TV tower in Moscow will be closed for tourists in connection with reconstruction works before the end of 2014, the website of the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS) said.

The works for the reconstruction of general utilities are already underway in the entire tower. These include systems of ventillation, water supply, sewerage, power supply, etc.

It is assumed that the renovation works will expand the options offered for excursions. In particular, it will be possible to implement the long-planned "technical tour" of the tower, when visitors can explore the structure of the tower from the inside.
