Russia celebrates the Pushkin Day today. The country celebrates 214 years since the birth of the great poet. Most important activities and celebrations will be held in Moscow.

In particular, fans of literature and history will have an opportunity to visit the Pushkin Museum for free. In Building No.36 on Staraya Basmannaya Street will see the opening of a new branch of "House-Museum of Vasily L. Pushkin," which tells of the poet's uncle.

On June 6th, the world also celebrates the Day of the Russian language. The United Nations established this day in 2010. In 2011, a corresponding presidential decree recognized the day a memorable date in Russia.
