Russia will not let gays adopt its children

Russian children will not be allowed for adoption by same-sex families. The State Duma intends to consider this question urgently. Russian deputies will discuss whether it is possible to raise Russian children in foreign gay families at all.

The issue became especially important after the legalization of same-sex unions in several European countries. Russia will thus decide legally, which families can adopt children from Russia. To do this, deputies will need to introduce changes in the already enacted law. The law will not undergo drastic changes. It will only contain additions to exclude a possibility for gay couples to adopt children from Russia.

The decision is based on the lack of knowledge of the way how such families can raise children. For some, the sexual orientation of parents is not important at all. However, it is highly likely that same-sex families may not be able to grow decent citizens. What position do you support?
