Russia's defense export giant JSC Rosoboronexport hopes to win the tender for the supply of Ka-226T helicopters for India, the head of the helicopter export department of the company, Grigory Kozlov said. The results of the tender are not yet known, but Rosoboronexport officials believe that the company has good chances to win.

Ka-226 is a Russian multi-purpose helicopter, developed by Kamov design bureau. It is designed to carry six passengers or 1,350 kg of cargo. The cost of one helicopter of the Ka-226T modification is about 28-30 million rubles ($1 million). In December 2012, Russian Helicopters and Elcom Systems signed an agreement to establish a joint venture to assemble Russian helicopters, including the Ka-226T, in India.
