Nizhny Novgorod to modernize social and transport infrastructure

 

Governor Valery Shantsev signed a decree "On the program for modernization of social, engineering and transport infrastructure of Nizhny Novgorod region in 2013." The decree is aimed at ensuring equal access of citizens to timely and quality delivery of social services, and improving engineering and transportation in the region.

Approximately 29 billion rubles will be allocated from the budget for funding of all planned activities under the framework of the 61st regional and departmental targeted program.

In particular, educational institutions of the region will be affected by modernization. 2.2 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes. These funds will be used to build a vocational school for 225 seats in the city of Sokolsky, secondary schools in Gagin and Sarov, lyceum in Semenov, and for renovation and purchase of equipment for a variety of schools, kindergartens and children's camps in the region.

933 million rubles will be allocated for the "Healthcare" program. Approximately 80 percent of the funds will be spent on construction of a perinatal center in the city of Dzerzhinsk, the rest will be spent on construction of health clinics in Volodarsky, an extension to the hospital № 30 in Nizhny Novgorod, and reconstruction of children's building in Borsk Central Regional Hospital.

In addition, according to the decree, the allocated funds will be used to develop material and technical base of cultural establishments. 104 million rubles will be spent on construction of cultural centers in Diveevo, Semyany village of Vorotynsky district and village of Memory of the Paris Commune, as well as reconstruction and renovation of theaters, museums and libraries in the region.

Under Nizhny Novgorod "Sports" sub-program, four Sports and Recreational Centers will be built in Kstovo, Knyaginino, Ardatovo, and Nizhny Novgorod, as well as a regional training center in Nizhny Novgorod. 2.2 billion will be allocated for these purposes.

Over 140 million rubles will be spent on the development of regional utilities. 500 million rubles will be allocated for the gasification of villages. 3.4 billion rubles will be spent under the "Housing" program. The program will focus on improvement of the living conditions of young families and young professionals residing in rural areas, housing orphans, the disabled, and victims of political repression.

Nearly 10 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of road and transport infrastructure. Two billion rubles will be allocated for upgrading environmental infrastructure. In addition, over 3.5 billion rubles will be allocated for reimbursement of interest on farmers' loans.
