Peugeot Automaker Intends to Push up Sales in Russia by 14.3%, in 2003

In 2003, French Peugeot Automobile Company intends to increase its sales in Russia by 14.3% year-on-year to 8,000 vehicles. This is according to the statement made during a press conference by General Representative of Peugeot in the CIS. He said, his company should sell in Russia 7,000 Peugeot vehicles, which would be a 63% increase year-on-year.

He continued to say that from January through September 2002, Peugeot had sold 5,500 vehicles in Russia, which had been about 80% increase on the year. Peugeot intends to sign three new dealer's agreements before this year is over, increasing the number of its dealers in the country from 7 to 10.

At the Auto+Automechanics exhibition, for the first time in St. Petersburg, Peugeot presented its Peugeot 807 minivan with a 2.2 litre engine. Its price is USD 34,000. Other Peugeot models presented at the Lenexpo exhibition grounds were 307XSI, 307SW, 206SWXS and 607 Pack.
