Volkswagen Intends to Push up Sales in Russia by 24%, in 2003

Before the end of 2002, the Volkswagen (VW) Automobile Company intends to have sold in Russia about 9,000 vehicles, to make an increase 24% year-on-year. Such was the statement head of Volkswagen Russia, Torsten Bradler made during a press conference in St. Petersburg. He said, over the past 9 months of the year 2002, VW dealers in Russia had sold 0ver 6,000 vehicles, making an increase of 13% on the year.

Mr. Bradler said that Volkswagen Passat remained the leader among other models, 2,630 cars sold from January through September. Volkswagen Bora was the second best-selling (1,070 cars sold), and Volkswagen Golf remained the third (897 sold, which is a 13% increase on the year).

The head of the Russian office of VW said, at this time, his company had 34 dealers in our country, planning to have 2 more, in the cities of Voronezh and Volgograd, shortly.
