Ekaterinburg launches jetliner in support of Expo 2020

The initiative of Sverdlovsk Region Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev to brand aircraft with logos in support of EXPO 2020 in Ekaterinburg has turned into reality. Ural Airlines has launched the first jetliner with the logo of the exhibition. The plane also carries the phrase: "Ekaterinburg World Expo 2020. Candidate City".

It is assumed that the additional "coloring" of aircraft and the mentioning of Ekaterinburg will promote the city in the world.

According to the governor, it is highly important for the city to make a statement to the world: "After all, the implementation of the project "Expo-2020" in the event of victory will give the region and Ekaterinburg a powerful impetus for development. It will increase the volume of investment, raise business activity and the flow of tourists," the governor said.

The first branded aircraft took a flight to Moscow. Afterwards, it will fly to Krasnoyarsk, Harbin and other cities. Other "messengers" aircraft will soon join it. To support Yekaterinburg as a candidate city for Expo 2020, the airline has selected the airplanes that fly abroad on a regular basis. These aircraft will travel to Europe, the Mediterranean and to the Middle East.

The logo of the exhibition and the phrase "Ekaterinburg World Expo 2020. Candidate City" will be applied to four A320 aircraft. The logo with the promo phrase will soon appear on three other aircraft. According to experts, it is not the paint, but special stickers, varnished for protection from adverse weather conditions. If necessary, they can be replaced.

It is planned that the aircraft will fly with the logo on the board before November 2013.
