Ivanovo region to receive 40 million rubles to develop tourism

The Ivanovo region will receive additional 40 million rubles of federal funds for the development of tourism infrastructure. This was said by the head of the region, Mikhail Men, after the meeting of the Coordinating Council of the federal target program "The Development of Domestic Tourism in the Russian Federation." The meeting was held on October 24th. The governor also said that it became possible to attract additional funding owing to the redistribution of the funds that other regions had had left.

The administration of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism appreciated the pilot project for the development of the city of Plyos in the Ivanovo region as one of the most dynamic ones. The agency has thus provided an opportunity for the region to develop the funds within the scope of the program.

The head of the region also presented two new tourism projects for the development of the Ivanovo region during the above-mentioned meeting. This is a project for the development of the Volga tourist cluster. Its concept is aimed at the development of the route along the Volga River, as well as the territories of Kineshemsky, Vichugsky, Puchezhsky, Yuryevetsky, Zavolzhsky districts of the region, and "Palekh Firebird" project.

According to Mikhail Men, the presentation was a success.  There is every reason to enter the federal program for the development of tourism, the governor said.
