Nizhny Novgorod helps flood victims

Nizhny Novgorod residents continue to collect humanitarian aid for flood victims in the Krasnodar region. Collection centers have been organized in the city, where people bring clothes, food and medicines. A special account has been opened for money transfers. The mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Oleg Sorokin said that he would wire his July salary to help the flood victims.

"This is a great tragedy, and we must provide the necessary support to residents of the Krasnodar Territory. All Nizhny Novgorod residents, willing to render all possible assistance to the victims will be able to do it in  specially organized centers, where it will be possible to bring things, food and medicines," Oleg Kondrashov, the head of the administration of Nizhny Novgorod, said during the weekly meeting.

Today, the people of the disaster-stricken area need drinking water in the first place. At the initiative of the Ministry for Support and Development of Small Business and Consumer Market and Services of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the region would send 18 tons of water to the flood victims.

Activists of the "Young Guard" opened a collection point for assistance to victims in the Krasnodar Territory in the public reception of Nizhny Novgorod Duma deputy Dmitry Kuzin (cinema " Burevetnik", Kominterna Street, 244). The point will be working until the end of the week. Financial means and essential things for the victims are also accepted at the Red Cross office in Nizhny Novgorod (Bolshaya Pokrovskaya, 27) from 10:00 to 18:00 on weekdays.
