Gazprom to start gas supplies to Turkey

In December 2002, the Gazprom gas holding will start supplying gas to Turkey within the Blue Stream project, head of the foreign relations department of the Gazprom gas holding Ivan Zolotov stated at the Russian Energy Sector conference, organized by the Adam Smith Institute, today. It is expected that the annual gas exports to Turkey will grow to 16 billion cubic meters before 2008. Gas supplies to Turkey will be performed during 25 years. Additionally, Zolotov pointed out that Gazprom was planning to increase its gas exports to Romania and Bulgaria. According to him, over the next ten years, Russian gas exports is to reach 160 billion cubic meters to 205 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
