Yakutia opens information technology center for disabled children

The center of information technologies for disabled children opened in the city of Mirny, Yakutia. The new center is called "Hold My Hand." The goal of the center is to give physically challenged children an opportunity to access information directly, to establish active communication between children, as well as their parents and teachers. It will also be possible to teach disabled children remotely via the Internet at the center.

The presentation of the new facility took place at the center for additional education for children of the city within the scope of a local municipal program.

Spokespeople for social services of the district and the city, specialists in education, children and their parents attended the opening.

A part of the presentation ceremony was conducted in the computer class, where specialists demonstrated the opportunities of such programs as Skype, NVDA (Non-Visual Desktop Access), Team Viewer, Enable Viacam. The programs will give children an opportunity to study remotely, master additional educational programs and take part in various contests.
