Yakutia: Perfect tourist destination

Yakutian President Egor Borisov took part in the work of the international conference for the development of event tourism, which took place in Yakutsk, the capital of Yakutia.

Egor Borisov pointed out that the president and the government of the Russian Federation pay special attention to the development of the regions of the Arctic and the Far East, including the development of the sphere of tourism.

Mr. Borisov also said that Yakutia positions itself at a dynamically developed region with high business activity, rich and versatile natural potential, large historical legacy and unique culture of its peoples, the website of the Yakutian president said.

Yakutia today is 700,000 water objects, 1/5 of Russia's ecologically pure territory and eleven percent of untouched nature of the whole world. The Republic of Yakutia is a perfect place for tourism, discoveries and extreme adventures.

The head of the republic believes that the development of event tourism in Sakha Republic (Yakutia) deserves special attention now. In 2012, the republic is going to host landmark events: the IV International Forum "Sports Power Russia," and V International Sports Games "Children of Asia."

The following officials also took part in the work of the conference: deputy minister for culture of the Russian Federation, Grigory Ivliev, deputy chairman of the Federal Agency for Tourism, Dmitry Mikheev, first Vice Prime Minister of the government of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev, other members of the republican government, general director of Russia Discovery Ltd, Timofei Rogozhin, spokespeople for travel agencies, educational and scientific institutions of public organizations and business from Finland, Germany, Korea, Chukotka, Krasnodar and Khabarovsk regions, as well as the city of Moscow.
