Tourists show more interest in Nizhny Novgorod region

The minister for support and development of small business, consumer market and services of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Denis Labuza, stated that tourism in the region was gathering pace.

According to the minister, the routes on the Northern ring of the region - Gorodets-Semyonov-Svetloyar and on the Southern ring - Arzamas-Diveevo-Bolshoye Boldino were most popular among tourists.

In the Zavolzhye region, one can get acquainted with traditional national crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod region - gold embroidery and woodcarving. One could also try to paint a nesting doll under the guidance of an artist.

Arzamas is the hometown of writer Arkady Gaidar. Diveevo is the spiritual center of Povolzhye. It is the world's fourth and Russia's only apanage of Holy Mother. Bolshoye Boldino is known as an inherited estate of Russia's great poet and writer Alexander Pushkin. This is a truly romantic place that has become a Mecca for the people of creative professions and everyone else who respects the genius of literature.
