Yakutia's President tells of his conversation with Putin and Medvedev

On November 29, President of Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Egor Borisov, took part in the VI regional forum of the followers of United Russia Party. The forum was held under the slogan "The Future Depends on Us!"

Making a speech to the participants of the forum, the head of the republic shared his thoughts about the XII Congress of United Russia party, which had taken place in Moscow several days before that. The congress was held to officially nominate Vladimir Putin as a presidential candidate.

According to Egor Borisov, it is difficult to overestimate the significance of the congress, because the congress had virtually determined the political course and the future of Russia for the upcoming years.

"The candidate for the presidential election, which is to be held on March 4, 2012, Vladimir Putin, stated that we had managed to create the necessary base for Russia's stable development. Our common goal now is to build the Russia of the XXI century on this base together," Borisov quoted one of the nation's leaders. The head of Yakutia urged his party fellows to join their efforts and get involved in executing the goal.

In addition, Mr. Borisov said during the forum that he had a meeting with Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev after the congress. Borisov asked Russia's leaders a question about the further tools for the development of the Far East regions.

Putin said that it could be possible to establish a powerful business structure - a state-run corporation or a joint-stock company with the 100-percent participation of the state capital  - which would be thoroughly involved in the development of East Siberia and the Far East.

Dmitry Medvedev referred to the successful experience of the corporation for reforms in the field of public utilities. Medvedev also said that other programs for the development of Far Eastern territories would not be canceled.

Being the leader of the regional list of United Russia, Egor Borisov stated at the end of his speech at the forum that United Russia, unlike other parties, does not make empty promises. He exemplified his statement with higher pensions, tens of new schools, kindergartens and hospitals, the expansion of the transport infrastructure, the gasification of remote settlements, the support of small business, socially insecure people, and so on.
