Suspicious bag causes evacuation of Washington area's Dulles Airport

The ticketing areas at airport serving Washington were evacuated as a precaution Monday after a suspicious bag was discovered in the main terminal.

The entire ticketing level on the main level of Dulles International Airport was evacuated shortly after 3 p.m. (1900 GMT), said Courtney Prebich, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. Security guards were examining the piece of luggage.

It was not immediately clear how many flights were being delayed.
