Three explosions apparently caused by bombs packed in tin lunch boxes shook a northern Indian town that is center for Hindu hard-liners.There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The blasts took place shortly after dusk in Gorakphur, a town about 600 kilometers (370 miles) east of New Delhi, said police spokesman Surendra Srivastav.

He could not say how extensive the damage was or who the targets might be. The attack came four days after a historic mosque in southern India was bombed.
