Two small airplanes crashed and killed four men aboard

Two small airplanes collided Friday over northeast Ohio and crashed in a field, killing four men, authorities said.

The identities of the victims, two in each plane, and the origins and destinations of the flights weren't immediately known. One plane, a Cessna 172 L, came to rest upside-down in a field in this mostly rural community in Ohio.

The other, a Lancair 235, crashed about a quarter-mile (400 meters) away near a housing development. The tail was broken off and one of the wings was nearly separated from the plane. All four people who died were from Ohio, said Sheriff Duane Kaley. No one was injured on the ground, AP reports.
