Quake strikes Central California

Central California was shook by an earthquake on Sunday morning east of San Simeon, 200 miles (320 kilometers) northwest of Los Angeles. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The magnitude-4.4 temblor hit at 6:48 a.m. (0148 GMT Monday), according to a preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey. It was followed by several aftershocks of magnitude-3.0 and above, reports the AP.
